The Art of Organization with Nicole Gabai

Join us at the Falmouth Public Library on Tuesday, September 24th at 6:30 PM for a discussion on an artful and fun approach to organizing your personal and professional spaces based on Nicole Gabai’s book The Art of Organization.  Ms. Gabai wrote and illustrated the book and uses her creative background to discuss subjects like time management, stress-free moving and how to create more space in small spaces.  She uses a unique organizing approach to help people of all ages bring a sense of order and balance into their lives. 

Ms. Gabai is a professional organizer, author, artist and a Certified Virtual Organizing Professional™ with over two decades of hands-on organizing experience.  Her focus is to help you move from feeling stuck, discouraged, overwhelmed or afraid of change to a place of feeling happier and more productive so you can move on with your life! She is one of only 100 people in the world to earn a Virtual Organizing Certification.

Earlier in her career, Ms. Gabai served in various jobs in TV production at renowned networks like MTV, Nickelodeon, the Orlando Film Commission, and MacGuffin Films in New York City. She attended Parsons School of Design and received a BFA in Textile Design & Styling from the Fashion Institute of Technology, and worked as a textile designer in New York City for several years.

She has been featured in prestigious publications such as Martha Stewart, Southern Living, AARP, Real Simple, US News & World Report, Forbes, Boston 25 News, and more.

Walk This Way!

Join the library’s new monthly LGBTQIA+ walking group and discuss new/classic queer literature, film and culture.  The first walk is scheduled for Friday, August 16th at 3:00 PM – 4:00 PM and we’ll  meet at the Katherine Lee Bates Rd Library entrance. 

Walks will be short (under .5 miles), leisurely and end on the library lawn where all are welcome to enjoy more fresh air and make new friends with fellow walkers.  This event is free, inclusive and open to the general adult public.  

Registration is required along with a waiver and release form.  The waiver and release form will be handed out at the first walk. 

*Walks are planned alongside Shiverick’s Pond Pathway and are accessible with the use of wheelchairs, walkers and other walking aids.

Free Online Job Seekers Networking Group

The Massachusetts Library Collaborative’s 50+ Job Seekers Group meets via Zoom on the 1st and 3rd Wednesdays of the month, from 9:30am to 11:30am. Informal networking takes place from 9am to 9:30am and 11:30am to noon. If you are unemployed and actively looking, underemployed, seeking a new career direction, re-entering the job market after a long employment gap, or recently retired and looking for your “Encore Career,” this networking group program is perfect for you! Remember, 85% of jobs are found through networking!

Each biweekly meeting is facilitated by Deborah Hope, MBA, PCIC, an experienced executive career coach. Deborah is a former Fortune 500 executive, investment banker and entrepreneur. She transitioned to executive coaching over 12 years ago. Deborah has coached with Harvard Business School Executive Education programs and the Massachusetts Conference for Women. She has been trained or certified in a variety of coaching models and assessment tools. Deborah has facilitated 50+ job seekers networking groups since 2016.
