Welcome to the Teen Page!

The library’s Young Adult Room is intended for use by teens in grades 7-12.  Its purpose is to centralize the resources, events, programs, tools and information you need, while also providing a safe, welcoming space that is uniquely yours.  It is a place to get the things you need and it’s a place to show off your work.  It’s a place to socialize or to find solitude.  And we do take suggestions, so if there is something you’d like to see the teen room do or have please contact Meg, the Teen Librarian and she will do everything she can to make it happen.  Info below.

Discover Your Power Animal!

Wednesday May 24th /  3:30- 5:00

Did you know animals have wisdom to share with us?
In this workshop, facilitated by Deb Avery, we will learn what power animals are and how they both relate, and are distinct from, spirit animals and animal totems.  Participants will be invited to begin the journey of discovering their own personal power animal.
If you’re looking to learn about guidance and support available to you when you connect to the animal kingdom, this workshop is for you! Come explore the animal oracle decks available during this workshop to receive insights about yourself, your relationships or any questions you may have.
There will be art supplies available to explore a creative expression of your personal power animal AND snacks.
This event is Wednesday May 24th at 3:30 PM
This is a teen event.

ONGOING EVENT:   Teen Visual Art Exhibit

Cape Cod teens are invited to submit visual artwork in any medium (photography, painting, drawing, collage, digital art etc.) to be displayed in the YA room at the Falmouth Public Library.

If you are able to lend us your work framed or otherwise ready to hang, that’s great.  However, if you don’t have a frame, or you need a little help making your art gallery-ready, don’t worry – we can help you!

To submit work / ask questions, email the teen librarian, Meg Krohn at mkrohn@falmouthpubliclibrary.org

  • Graphic novels, anime, & manga
  • Poetry
  • Magazines, including Game Informer, Kolaj, MAD and Otaku USA.
  • Non-fiction (There is a great range of fantastically interesting stuff here – “nonfiction” sounds much duller than our selection actually is.)
  • A “Library of Things” available to be borrowed, including Chromebooks, hot spots, a sewing machine and a microscope.
