Resources For Readers
Need a little help finding the next book? Falmouth Public Library has a number of reading resources available.
Bookletters: Stay connected through newsletter e-mails. Read about BookLetters by CLICKING HERE and sign up for regular bulletins of the latest and the greatest HERE.
Books: In the catalog, restrict the location to "Falmouth" then search under keywords "books and reading" for a robust collection of books on the subject of reading. Also, in the reference room, you'll find books listing and describing titles and authors by genre. Look for guides in horror, westerns, romance, fantasy/sci fi, short stories, mysteries, and nonfiction.
FPL Book Club: Drop-in meetings, morning or evening. The only goal is to leave the discussion feeling that you understood the book better than when you arrived.
Novelist: Novelist offers readers the ability to find fiction titles based on a favorite author, title, or a description. Browse lists based on genre or awards and find author read-alikes and book discussion guides. Find it under the Reference Databases link on our website.
Staff Picks: Did you ever wonder what the people who work in the library read when they go home? Check out our collection of staff picks in the lobby of the library -- titles vary almost as much as we do ourselves.
Web Resources: From the library homepage select For Readers for descriptions of all that's available. Click on What do I read next? for a list of bookish links.
Library Staff: Stop and chat with us -- we'd love to help find your next book!
