Updates on Library Programs

Great news from our programming guru, Adrienne Latimer. She informs us that she has been able to reschedule Dr. Dana Mohler-Faria after he had to cancel his April talk due to illness. Dr. Dana Mohler-Faria, Historian and President of Bridgewater State University will speak on Wednesday, May 16th at 7:00 p.m. about challenges faced by Cape Verdean immigrants in the Civil War era. A What’s Falmouth Reading? event made possible with support from the Falmouth Public Library Trustees.

Other What’s Falmouth Reading? programming news is that Walt Whitman will be at the West Falmouth Library on Sunday, April 29th from 3:00 – 4:00 p.m.! Actually performer Gerry Wright becomes Walt Whitman in his one-man show highlighting the life and work of the “Civil War Poet,” best known for Leaves of Grass.

If you’re just getting back to town, you can see everything we have done for this years town wide read Seen the Glory: a novel of the battle of Gettysburg by John Hough, Jr. by going to our What’s Falmouth Reading? web page. You can even follow whatsfalmouthreading on twitter or friend us on facebook (where you’ll find a great photo of Gerry Wright)!
