I am pleased to at last announce the cast and discussion panel for tonight’s reading from Philoctetes by Sophocles. The reading will be at 7:00 p.m. on the library lawn. Please bring a lawn chair or blanket.

POORNIMA KIRBY (Neoptolemus)
Credits include Mrs. De Winter, Sleep No More (A.R.T.); Aramintha, Daughter of Venus (W.H.A.T.); Rose, Blood Rose Rising (Honest Ghost); Mariana, Measure for Measure (Shakespeare & Co.); Juliet, Romeo and Juliet and Hermia, Midsummer Night’s Dream (ShakespeareNOW); Edward VI, Prince and the Pauper (Hampstead Stage Co.); and Ariadne, Ariadne Mythweaver (One Year Lease). Training: B.A. in Drama from Vassar College.

JACK SCHULTZ (Odysseus/Chorus)
Jack Schultz has returned to acting after a 35 year hiatus to solve the problems of war, injustice, and environmental degradation. He hopes for more success on the stage. He began his acting career in Chicago doing radio drama and writing and acting in political theatre. Recently he has appeared as Devlin in Harold PInter’s Ashes to Ashes and as the infamous art forger, Han Van Meegeren in The Master Forger by David Wiener. He studies with Jock McDonald in the Carter Thor Studios East.

JEFF ZINN (Philoctetes)
Jeff Zinn has been Artistic Director at Wellfleet Harbor Actors Theater (WHAT) since 1988. During that time he has produced more than 150 productions and directed more than 50. Under his leadership WHAT has been awarded two prestigious Eliot Norton Awards including one in 2001 for “Establishing a Beachhead For Serious Theatre on Cape Cod.” Productions he had directed, Beauty Queen of Leenane (starring Julie Harris), Closer by Patrick Marber, and Proof by David Auburn were in the annual “top ten” named by the Boston Globe. Some of his favorite productions at WHAT are Goose and Tom Tom by David Rabe; Killer Joe by Tracy Letts; The Pillowman by Martin McDonagh; Daughter of Venus by Howard Zinn and Danny Casolaro; Died For You (World Premiere) by Dominic Orlando. As an actor he appeared off-Broadway in the original Cherry Lane Theatre production of David Mamet’s Sexual Perversity in Chicago and on Broadway in The Suicide starring Derek Jacobi. He lives in Orleans with his wife, Crystal, and their two kids, Georgia and Noah.

Dr. Nancy Tilson-Mallett, MD, FACP
Dr. Nancy Tilson-Mallett is board certified in Internal Medicine, Geriatrics, and Hospice and Palliative Care.  She is a Hospitalist at Falmouth Hospital and serves as the Chief of Medicine and Chairman of Palliative Care.

William Hough , Editor, The Enterprise
Bill Hough is editor of the Falmouth Enterprise and publisher of the Enterprise newspapers in Bourne, Sandwich, Mashpee and Barnstable, in addition to Falmouth. He is a graduate of Hampshire College and began working at the family-owned newspaper in 1982. and took on the role of sole publisher in 2005.  Mr. Hough founded and formerly co-published On The Water magazine, a fishing publication he established with Chris Megan in 1996. He is president of the Woods Hole Foundation, on the board of the Falmouth Service Center and serves on the steering committee of the Falmouth Prevention Partnership, a coalition of community organizations dedicated to reducing substance abuse among young people. He is married to Monica Hough, who teaches at Falmouth Academy, and has three children, all of whom are currently in college.

Mary Ann Waygan, RN, MSN
Maryann Waygan describes herself as a Home Care nurse. However that is only a small part of her service in the field of public health.  She is the Massachusetts Department of Public Health / Centers of Disease Control coordinator.  She developed the Clinical Nurse Coordinator position at the Breast Cancer Services Program at the Falmouth Hospital.  She was one of the founders of the Falmouth Free Clinic, and provides breast and cervical cancer screening for uninsured women.  She is a lecturer at the College of Nursing at the University of Massachusetts, Boston.  Her professional activities even extend beyond the United States, serving as Azores Liaison Outreach for Nursing Education. Ms. Waygan also serves a volunteer nurse and advisor for Project Hope Europe Breast Cancer Outreach and University of Massachusetts, Dartmouth, College of Nursing.
