Thoughts on an Amazing Week at the Library

Some things that happened in this amazing week at the library.

On Tuesday we got new oversize shelving, and moved the shelving that had been used for oversize books into the fiction stacks. We also got some fabulous new shelving for our Cancer Resource Center in the Reference Room.

On Wednesday we got new IP addresses, which doesn’t mean much to most people, but means that we have had trouble connecting to our databases every day this week! If you are having trouble getting into our databases from home this week or in the library, please let us know!

On Wednesday evening the Providence Brigade Band performed on the library lawn!

And, of course, the Friends of the FPL Book Sale began on Friday! We even had an unexpected flash mob sing “America the Beautiful” at the book sale!!

This doesn’t even include all the teen events, the children’s events, and the general everyday activities that happen here. Why we even got our first reference question being called in from the beach! The young man was calling for his mother to see if we had e-books we loaned out for his mother’s nook. The answer is yes! What did you do at the library this week?
