Catalog Search

Sorry we didn’t give you a heads up about this before it happened, but what with putting together programs, getting the beach basket ready, and a general stampede of holiday patrons ... I have to say WE didn’t remember it was going to happen today until we turned on the computers! So ... here is the most important piece of news to start ... if the new screen looks TERRIBLE this may mean you are using the Firefox browser ... just reload your page a couple of times and the new catalog will appear. Now, as for NEW features, you can see a complete list of them on the CLAMS web page if you click the HELP BUTTON at the top of the screen.

Some of the highlights of the new catalog features include:

* Save to My List lets you save items to your account for later access.

* Add to Bag to create a temporary list for requesting or exporting.

* Limit by DVD or CD on your initial search.

* Going on vacation? Use Freeze Hold to save your place in line for a new title.

If you have any questions please post your comment here or you can follow us on twitter or you can like us on Facebook … and of course we are still more than happy to pick up the phone (508-457-2555 ext. 6 for reference) or answer an e-mail at !! And while I’m mentioning ways to know what is happening, you can also sign-up for our weekly e-mail newsletter of what’s happening just by going to our web page and typing in your e-mail address in the box that says “E-Newsletter” and clicking JOIN. Oh and don’t forget you can also TEXT us a question! Text us at 66746 and start your question with askfpl
For example: askfpl what are the library hours on Saturdays?

So give that new library catalog a try and tell us what you think. We are already finding a few snafus, and reporting them to the CLAMS office as we see them. If something is missing that you remember from the former catalog or something isn’t working right, we want to know!
