If you own an iPhone, iPad or iPod Touch there is an app that you can use to keep track of the library books you have on loan. Its called Library Books and the app will remind you of the date the books are due and let you know which books are on hold. The app works with many libraries and library systems around the world including CLAMS.
When you first load the app you can select your library and enter your library card number and PIN number on your device. Then the Library Books app will connect with the library system and retrieve a list of the books on loan, those on hold and your loan history. You can add multiple library cards to the app so you can keep track of family member’s loans in one place. When a book is due you will get a notice on your device and you can change the reminder for overdue books anywhere between one day to two weeks warning.
The Library Books app does cost $2.99 from Apple’s iTunes program to download. The app also does not let you renew your library loans. However CLAMS will notify you by email for free that your library loans are due and will allow you to renew your books at the CLAMS website. But if you just need a timely reminder delivered to your iPhone, iPad or iPod Touch, so you don’t have overdue fees, this might be a good app to use.
