A few weeks ago a patron of the library, Natasha Walton, suggested that we might want to offer the typing program, Mavis Beacon Teaches Typing, at the Falmouth Library. The program, which can be used by adults, teens and children, teaches in a simple step by step process. On screen it shows you where to hold your fingers and gradually over time your accuracy and speed will increase. Patrons can create a login name and the software will remember where they stopped. Patrons then can continue practicing the next time they visit. One computer in the reference department and one computer in the children’s area have been set up with the software.
