There is sad news to report this week at Falmouth Public Library. It is the last week that Gary Ingraham, our Information Technology Librarian, will be working at the library. The good news for him is that his wife has a great new job, the bad news is that the job is out of state. It is hard to express how much we will miss his good humor, ability to troubleshoot, and incredible patience. Many of you may have met Gary when you had a computer problem in the building, or he taught you how to use Overdrive on your Nook or your iPad. We have had the amazing good fortune of having him be part of the public library team for about two and a half years. He had guided us through many a technology snafu.
The first day Gary started I knew he could perform computer miracles. He performed one that day, and has been pretty much keeping up a string of computer miracles every week he has been here. His patience and understanding with library patrons has been an inspiration to the entire staff. In fact, I’d say that every staff member could write a blog this week about how Gary had helped them in their job. If you have a Gary story, we’d love it if you would share it by leaving a comment on our blog. And if you happen to be in this week, be sure to say goodbye. He truly is irreplaceable, and will be greatly missed.
