When I was learning about Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), I read that people with it were wired differently, that was a helpful idea as I learned to cope with it in my family. A telephone pole with a mess of wires was right outside my son’s bedroom window. I painted that utility pole looking out that window over a period of weeks or months. I gained a new appreciation for why I didn’t understand my sons’ wiring. I began observing and painting other utility poles around town. And while painting many different poles, I considered how everyone is wired differently.
