We are pleased to announce the date and activities for this year’s Holiday Gift Workshop! This event has been so popular for the past few years that there was no question about bringing it back this season. Adults and teens are invited to sign up for two 1-hour workshops, plus a bonus activity in which you can make fun gifts to give away (or keep!) this holiday season. No crafting experience necessary and best of all … it is completely free, thanks to generous support from the Trustees and Friends of the Falmouth Public Library.
Holiday Gift Workshop
Tuesday, December 6, 2011
6:30 - 8:15pm
Hermann Room, Falmouth Public Library
1. Create a Mini Kit (either sewing or first-aid) out of, of all things, an Altoid tin! Go green this season and learn how to repurpose this handy container.
2. Cape Cod Paper Ornament with Ruth Bleakley. Ruth, a professional bookbinder, always has interesting paper crafts to share with our workshop.
3. Sparkling Studded Candles: in this new activity you can decorate two pillar candles with metal nailhead studs in holiday motifs. Keep one and give one away!
4. Bonus activity: Prepare Paperwhite Bulbs for Forcing. Since this is quick and easy, squeeze this one in around two workshops above.
Contact the reference department and sign up! Each activity will be offered in the 6:30 session and the 7:30 session.
Telephone: 508-457-2555 ext. 6
In person: at the reference desk
