- The meeting rooms of the Library are for the Library's own uses and for use by Falmouth organizations for public meetings. The facilities will be made available "on an equitable basis, regardless of the beliefs or affiliations of individuals or groups requesting their use." American Library Association BILL OF RIGHTS, Article VI. Revised and voted by Trustees 12/10/96
-
Public meetings in the Library do not reflect endorsement or advocacy for any particular point of view by the Library. The views expressed implicitly or explicitly during public meetings in the Library are those of the parties using the space.
- Meeting rooms may not be used either for an occasion requiring an admission fee or for meetings involving financial gain as an important element. Profit making organizations sponsoring an educational program of a non-profit nature will be permitted to use the meeting rooms provided the meetings are open to the public. The Library’s own programs shall have priority for the use of the rooms.
- In fairness to the numerous groups in the community, the Library will not accept reservations for a series of meetings which would designate the library as the regular meeting place for any organization.
- The Library normally will not provide personnel to assist in the handling of exhibits and other materials needed by groups using the meeting rooms.
- Meeting rooms are available during the hours the library is open to the public.
- Exceptions to the above are subject to the approval of the Director.
