Spring Lecture Series by Mass Audubon
Come celebrate spring with a lecture series by specialists from Mass Audubon at Falmouth Public Library. The first lecture, held on Saturday, April 9 at 2PM, is ”The Nature of Mass Audubon’s Mid & Upper Cape Sanctuaries”.
These sanctuaries encompass many of Cape Cod’s most critical habitats including barrier beaches, coastal plain ponds, salt marshes, cedar swamps and vernal pools. They are rich in biodiversity and possess unique histories as well. Listen to Long Pasture Sanctuary director Ian Ives discuss the unique attributes of these areas and why they are so important.
The May lecture is Salt Marshes of Cape Cod, also with director Ian Ives and the June lecture is Coastal Waterbirds of Cape Cod with birding naturalist Chris Walz.
The series will be held on the second Saturday of each month at 2PM in the Hermann Foundation Meeting Room at the Falmouth Public Library, 300 Main St. Falmouth. The talks are free, thanks to generous support from the Trustees of the Falmouth Public Library. No registration is necessary.
