February Vacation Week!

Teens and their caregivers are invited to visit our Young Adult room to pick up a February School Vacation Week brochure and register for activities at the Reference Desk or online using the form below. Registration has now started and we’re expecting activities to fill up quickly.

Events will be canceled or rescheduled if less than 5 participants are confirmed for each activity.

4H Babysitting Class | February 18 @ 9:45 am-4:30 pm | grades 5-12 | Thanks for coming!

Learn about child safety, first aid and emergencies, feeding and nutrition, discipline, stages of development and more to become a confident babysitter.

Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children (PG-13) | February 21 @ 1pm | Thanks for coming!

Pete’s Dragon (PG) | February 22 @ 2 pm | No registration required

Disney’s Pete’s Dragon is a remake of the 1977 film of the same name. In this version the main character, a huge green dragon named Elliott lives in a forest in the Pacific Northwest and befriends a young boy named Pete. Pete was orphaned at four years old and came to live in the forest with Elliot. The movie starts with the discovery of this young boy in the forest by a forest ranger who heard stories about the dragon in the woods. Pete befriends the forest ranger’s daughter as he adjusts to civilization outside the forest.

Paint Mandalas on Beach Stone | February 22 @ 4-5 pm | grades 5-12 | Spaces available

Choose a beautiful mandala design and learn how to re-create it on beach stone using painting techniques with Jennifer Burkin from the Aquinnah Public Library!

Robots on the Run | February 23 @ 2-4 pm | grades 5-12 | Spaces available

Play with robots and learn how to program a simple robot by using Arduino and mastering circuits with Dan Berman from the RI Computer Museum.

Comics Mini-Camp with Walker Mettling | February 25 & 26 @ 2-4:30 pm | grades 5-12 | Spaces available

Providence-based illustrator, comics artist, teacher, and story-night curator extraordinaire Walker Mettling is back in Falmouth! Sketch, draw, doodle, create in this invigorating two-day camp for imaginative types.
