A Call for Poems
Poetry of Courage & Survival – Poetry Writing Contest
Have you been touched by cancer in some way? Cancer survivors, patients and those who support them are invited to enter a poetry writing contest: Poetry of Courage & Survival. Winners will be announced and prizes awarded at a coffee-shop style poetry reading event on August 24 from 10 AM to noon at the Falmouth Public Library, 300 Main Street Falmouth. Winning poems will be read either by the poet or by a substitute reader, if requested, and all other contest entrants may read their poems at an open-mic, as time allows. Coffee and refreshments will be served and the public is invited to attend. The contest and poetry reading are co-sponsored by Falmouth Public Library Cancer Resource Center and Cape Cod Healthcare Cancer Committee, which have been partners for over 10 years.
The deadline for submission is July 27, 2019, at midnight. You may submit as many poems as you like on or before that date. Please include your name, address, telephone number, email address and the title of your poem(s) on one sheet of paper and the poem(s) (with no name) on a separate piece of paper.
