The Cancer Resource Center at the Falmouth Public Library and Falmouth Hospital will be celebrating cancer survival with a program called THE FABRIC OF HOPE, at the Library on Saturday, June 9.
We are looking forward to displaying a Quilt of Hope at the event with squares contributed by local cancer survivors to celebrate their resilience and determination. To prepare for this event, stitchers of all ages with a connection to cancer survival are invited to contribute a Survivor Square—no matter if the survivor is a friend, a family member, or oneself.
To encourage survivors to participate, local quilters Joanne Skudder and Lindsay Hopewood have prepared kits of ready-to-sew squares for both expert and novice stitchers. The kits are available at these locations: Falmouth Public Library (300 Main Street), the East Falmouth Branch Library (310 E. Falmouth Hwy/ Rte 28) and the North Falmouth Branch Library (6 Chester St), and the Clark Cancer Center at Falmouth Hospital
On Saturday, March 31 from 1:00 - 4:00 pm, there will be a “Block Party” at the Falmouth Public Library to help contributors finish sewing their squares. Joanne and Lindsay will provide supplies and equipment to help reluctant stitchers complete their task.
