GROWING OUR OWN: How we all benefit from local agriculture.

In case you haven’t heard, Falmouth’s 2013 town wide read is all about Food.  The What’s
Falmouth Reading?
Committee has chosen 2 books—ANIMAL, VEGETABLE,
MIRACLE:  a Year of Food Life by Barbara Kingsolver and CANDYFREAK: a
Journey Through the Chocolate Underbelly of America, by Boston area author &
journalist Steve Almond.

Launching this year’s community read will be Gregory C. Watson, our state
Commissioner of Agriculture (& Falmouth resident!) who will speak at the
Falmouth Public Library on Saturday, January 26 at 2 pm.  The title of his
talk is GROWING OUR OWN: How We All Benefit from Local Agriculture.  This
event is offered FREE of charge.

We hope that Greg’s talk will inspire you to read and discuss ANIMAL,
VEGETABLE, MIRACLE.  With the information and support you gain from our
upcoming programs, you may be inspired to try your hand at growing your
favorite vegetables, or become a regular shopper at the Farmers’ Markets
here in Falmouth.
